HOT PICKS

MY HOT PICKS

Impeccable styling, cuts, are usual to expect from Rajesh Pratap... he outdoes himself each time. The detailing and quiet finish said it all.

Anjana Bhargava's clean cuts and choice of colors were truly international in appeal.

UNSTOPPABLE RAO

' My work revolves around the basic principles of 'Minimalism' and 'Wearability'. I like to use natural fabrics and cut them into luxury casuals or lounge wear. '
Priyadarshini Rao's desogns reflect just that.
Creating textures within the fabric with the use of unusual yarns or surface treatment is her strength. With a distinct focus on silhouettes and the use of natural fabrics, Rao has mastered the rare art of being 'simple' with her play of colors, no loud embellishments, being contemporary yet having a distinct touch of class and dignity and even though she calls her label more Urban Bohemian, I find it chic- a combination of international and ethnic sensibilities. Understated yet always managing to strike the right connect.

WILLS INDIA FASHION WEEK 2009

SOME SHOWINGS

Rocky S disappoints- with completely unwearable, loud creations... the only saving grace seemed to be that he stuck to sombre colors like blacks, browns, greys and jade. The obsession with high fashion glamour seems obvious what with sequins and studs, feathers and fur adding to the punk rock look. Take a peek.....

Kiran Uttam Ghosh used rich vintage colors of copper, ink blue, green, brown , blue and magenta
Flowing drapes, Egyptian collars, Kimono jackets, jacket dresses, pleated skirts, churidars, Kaftans, paneled jackets, bias cut gently flared skirts, lantern sleeves, torn and pulled organza ponchos, tunics, capes, shrugs in ikat prints, velvet, organza, silk, georgettes ...kiran lived upto her trademark style of pleasant work once again exhibiting her flair for using colors rather tastefully though one cannot connect with her concept of frugality that she wanted to convey
